Review

We left earlier than expected because of the effing foot to eighteen inches of snow that fell all over New England. We actually got there after seven. I got in my seat at 7:45, half-way through the opening act. They were some local Boston band and they were pretty cool. The lead singer was a chick!

They started at around 8:35. The lights and the screen go down and I start flipping out. The band hits the stage, but there’s no Jon! I look to the other side of the arena and there he was! He was up on the sound booth! They started with ‘Last Man Standing.’ Perfect opener! After the song, Jon walked the arena to the stage. The second song I remember was ‘Bad Name.’ I had already lost my voice.

It’s hard to try to remember everything, so not everything will be in order. I remember Jon was in a VERY good mood! Very flirtatious! He was also in a dancing mood! Couldn’t stop! He kept turning around and shaking his butt!

‘Bounce’-Jon dedicated it to his friend Patriots coach Bill Bellichick.

‘Novocaine’-Jon pretty much acted out this song. It was hilarious! I love when he does that!

‘Runaway’- Ok, I almost peed my pants when they did this. Jon was saying that he was going to take us back in time. “2004, 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, 1999, 1997, 1994, 1990, 1989, 1986“...he stops. “1984, 1982. STOP!!!” Dave hits the keyboard and I yell my brains out! I LOVE THIS SONG!

‘I’ll Be There For You’-Just Jon & Richie. They shared a mic. It was a great moment, just the two of them out there.

‘Who Says You Can’t Go Home’-Not a big fan of this song, but it’s AWESOME live! It’s a great song to get the crowd involved! I think we “Alright-ed” it for five minutes! So much fun!

‘Someday I’ll Be Saturday Night’-This was a surprise! It was amazing!

‘It’s My Life’ and ‘Have A Nice Day’ rocked the house. No surprised there.

Now, let’s get to the important part, when Christy got within four feet of JON BON JOVI! I forget what song it was after, but the lights when down and Tico is doing a solo and I figure Jon is taking a break. So, I’m standing there jamming and I see everyone in my section looking over to the right. So I take a look over a few times and I’m like WTF are they looking at. Then, more people are looking. I take a step down and still see nothing. So, I’m standing there and all of a sudden a spotlight comes down and THERE THEY @#%$ HE WAS! I scramble down four rows and across. I then jump onto a seat. THERE HE WAS! Four feet away from me. He was doing ‘Blaze Of Glory.’ I was standing there in awe. I thought I was going to cry. I can’t believe I was that close. I could see the effing fuzz on his shirt for cryin’ out loud! AHH!!!

He stays there for the beginning of ‘Bed Of Roses’ and then walks down and dances with someone and then walked along back to the stage! HOLY CRAP! During the next song I was still in awe. My hands were on my face and I was saying OMG OMG OMG!!!

They also did ‘Everyday,’ ‘Bad Medicine,’ covers of ‘Won’t Back Down’ and ‘Treat Her Right. ’Just Older, ’Complicated,’ ‘Story Of My Life,’ ‘Novocaine,’ ‘Raise Your Hands,’ ‘Born To Be My Baby,‘ ‘I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead’ and ‘Livin’ On A Prayer’ that I can remember.

So, they say goodnight, but I know it’s not the end. Sad when I see people leave. The come back out and do about five more songs, Jon keeps saying that he ain‘t going nowhere. The lights go up and they take a bow and I think, “Wait, they didn’t do ‘Wanted Dead Or Alive‘, they always do that song! Then I notice Jon stop and he’s looking to the back of the stage and then again to the audience. Everyone is still screaming. He walks up to the mic and asks, “Don’t you all have to go home? I have to do this again tomorrow!” We all start screaming and he says to the guys, “Alright, come back.” Then they do ‘Wanted.’ It was effing awesome! One song that is 10x better live than on the cd! Richie’s solo was, of course, flawless. Jon than says they’re going to do one more song. Jon picks up a Santa hat that someone had thrown on the stage towards the beginning of the show and they do ‘Run, Run, Rudolph.’ THEN they’re done! The show was over 2 ½ hours. I’m not kidding when it was the best show I’ve ever been too. It was better than the last two times I saw them. Jon said they’ll be back to play Gillette Stadium in the summer. I AM SO THERE!!
